Mr. Charles Boyd Yearby, age 47, of Austin, Texas and formerly of Seattle, Washington went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 9, 2016 in Austin, Texas.

Charles was born September 23, 1969 and is the oldest child born to the union of Charles B. Yearby, Sr., and Marian Joyce Cola Yearby. He was born in Seattle, WA and the St. Francis Cabrini Hospital. Charles was the oldest of three siblings, Felecia and Letitia. His father preceded him in death May 1, 2005.

Charles attended Leschi Elementary, Dunlap Elementary, Southshore Middle School, Garfield High School and Washington State University, all in the state of Washington. In his freshmen year at WSU he received a plaque for having the best GPA. He also became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity which he loved dearly.

He had his first paper route delivering the South District Journal in the Rainier Beach area and later the Seattle Times which allowed him to purchase his beloved sports shoes of his choice. He always kept his room in perfect order but could tear it up in a matter of minutes and put it back in order.

Chuck was baptized in Seattle, WA and was a member of New Direction Missionary Baptist Church and Reverend Dr. Wilbert Reed was his pastor for a time while residing in WA.

He joined the United States Navy Reserve in the late 80’s where he served for approximately two years. He had a deep desire to see the world and entered into entrepreneurship. He was employed by Flextronics in Austin, TX before the accident, March 28, 2014.

He was so much fun to be around especially when he was telling his corny jokes. We loved his big grinny, smirky smile and those big brown eyes. He had a special love for his family, Nichole, his son, Xavier was his heart. He was very proud of his nephews: Darian and Jamin, even though he never go to meet Jamin.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Nicole Black (fiancé), Austin, TX; his mother and stepfather: Marian J and George Waters of Marianna, FL; one son: Xavier Winston Yearby, Kent, WA; two sisters: Felecia Yearby Anthony (Greg), Sacramento, CA and Letitia A. Yearby (currently attending Xavier University of New Orleans, LA); two nephews: Darian J. Dickey (currently in the United States Army in Amman, Jordan) and Jamin Lee Allen Anthony, Sacramento, CA; one brother: Corey DeShan Wilborn, Seattle, VA; uncles and aunts: Ruben Cola and Hilliard Wayne Cola, Louisiana, Jimmy Yearby (Claudette), Seattle, WA, Bobby Yearby (Linda), CA, Sharon Cola, Shoreline, WA, Maxine Moore, Baton Rouge, LA, Inolia Ann Johnson (Billy), Shreveport, LA, Kathy Yearby, CA, Elnora Yearby, LA, Joan Yearby, Gainesville, FL, Oliver Maxie, GA; a host of relatives and friends.
