Betty Jean Curry was born on Wednesday, August 29, 1956 to Sherman Sr., and Earline Cox Curry.
She was preceded in death by stepmother Jessie Mae Curry; eight siblings: Inez Curry Ramsey, Minnie Sheffield, Mary Peterson, Johnnie Mae Curry, Frank Curry, Carlton Ray Curry, James Jerome Curry and Jimmy Lee Curry.
She is survived by two sons: Brandon Brigham and James A. Brigham of Chipley, Florida; a special friend: Howard Horne of Chipley, Florida; six brothers: Sherman (Veryl) Curry, Elkay Curry both of Chipley, Florida, Danny (Jewellene) Curry, Clifford Curry both of Miami Florida, John Curry and Willie Charles Nix of Ocala, Florida; ten sisters: Maggie Laster, Hilda (John) McClendon both of Graceville, Florida, Josephine Curry of Noma, Florida, Ann Curry, Frankie Curry, Betty Marshall, Juline Gardner, Sharon Curry all of Chipley, Florida, Gloria Nix of Dade City, Florida and Laura McClain of Youngstown, Ohio; and a host of other relatives and friends.
There comes a time in our life that someone special touches us in such a way that leaves us with wonderful memories. Betty Jean Curry was just that person.
She touched some many lives that she came in contact with. Most knew her by the family nickname "Tweety Bird" . For the past few years she had been battling the dreadful disease Lupus, Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the body's healthy tissue. There are many kinds of lupus, but the most common and severe type is systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), which affects many internal organs in the body. SLE most often harms the heart, joints, skin, lungs, blood vessels, liver, kidneys, and nervous system. The course of the disease is unpredictable.
She lost the battle on Monday, September 18, 2017.
