Mary Ann Hudson was born to James Aaron Blount, Sr. and the late Ruthie Mae Blount in Jackson County, FL on November 3, 1952.
Her formative education was attained in the public schools of Jackson County culminating with graduation from St. Paul High School in Campbellton, FL. Mary was always a high achiever however her athletic skills in track and field continue to be legendary in the community. Having completed her high school diploma she enrolled at Chipola Junior College in 1970 and graduated in 1972. Upon graduating from Chipola Junior College she enrolled at the Florida State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education and a Master’s of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
While at Chipola Mary met and began dating William Eddie Hudson, Sr. They continued dating at the Florida State University and on December 28, 1973 they wed in Jacob City, FL and to this union two sons were born William E. Hudson, Jr. and Fashan D. Hudson, Sr. Although this union was dissolved they remained the best of friends. In December of 1992 Mary bore a third son Diallo S. Martin. Mary loved her children dearly and spent much of her time hosting her siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors in the community.
Following illness, Mary was called home by our Lord and Savior on November 6, 2015.
She is survived by her father: James A. Blount Sr.; sisters: Annie L. Kellam (David), Willie Ruth Pittman (Cullen); brothers: James Eddie Blount (Lona), James Aaron Blount, Jr. (Pam), Quentin Blount, Eddie C. Russ (Teresa), Anton L. Blount (Karen), ex-husband and special friend, William E. Hudson, Sr., sons: William E. Hudson, Jr. (Gretel), Fashan D. Hudson, Sr. (Demeka) and Diallo A. Martin: grandchildren: Clemisha, Jashan, Fashan Jr., Dashan, Keeshan, Messiah and Shanice; nieces: Shanitha, Sharonda, Ruthie, Kearby, Amber, Jasmine, nephews, Hardie, Del, Randall, Reginald, Terry, Jaredd, David, Jr., Jamison, Charles and Justin; and a host of uncles, aunts, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary’s older sister Betty Ruth Walton preceded her to Glory.
