Welcome to the memorial page for

Annie Jim (McCray) Stallworth

April 16, 1929 ~ December 31, 2014 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Mother Annie Jim Stallworth, age 85, of Port Saint Joe, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 31st at Bay Medical Covenant Hospice in Panama City, Florida.

She was 85 and a member of the Church of God in Christ in Port St. Joe, Florida.

Annie Jim McCray was born April 16, 1929 in Andalusia, Alabama to James and Mattie McCray.  She moved to Port St. Joe in 1946 to live with her aunt Georgia and uncle Tony.  She graduated from Washington High School in 1948.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Walter Stallworth, Sr. in 1948.  To this union, they were blessed with five lovely children: Walter Jr., Joseph, Benjamin, Victoria and Cori.

Mother A. J. accepted her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in 1948; henceforth, she was a faithful, contributing member of the Port St. Joe Church of God in Christ.  She served as Church Mother, Sunday School Teacher —her children called their mother “Sunday School Preacher”, Church Secretary, Treasurer, President of Citywide Mission, as well as many other Christian duties.

She was an active member of the Jolly Seniors | A Community Outreach Program and had served as Vice President.

Her hobbies included going to church, cooking, sewing, reading, visiting and telling of the goodness of the Lord.  She was never short of words. Her wisdom radiated in her ability to master almost any task she tackled.  Her strong, joyful personality was illuminated by the Holy character that she portrayed.

Having remained Holy and faithful to God in this present world, on December 31, 2014, Mother Annie Jim Stallworth made her Heavenly arrival to be with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Sr.; sons: Joseph and Benjamin; parents: James and Mattie McCray; brother: Robert Benjamin Charles; sister: Ida Williams; aunt and uncle: Georgia and Tony.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories:  sons, Walter Jr. (Diane) of Detroit, Michigan and Cori (Joyce) of Panama City, Florida; daughter: Victoria of Port St. Joe, Florida; grandsons: Marcus, Meldric and Cori II; granddaughters: Kortnee and Katelyn; sisters: Frances Akemon and Eloise Dillard of Rochester, New York; sisters-in-law: Jeanette Davis of Tampa, Florida and Stella Stallworth, Tallahassee, Florida; great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday January 10th at 11:00A.M.(est) at the Port Saint Joe Church Of God In Christ.

Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
