Sherman Curry, Jr. was born to the late Sherman Curry Sr, and Earline Cox Curry on May 10, 1948.
Sherman left his earthly home on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, FL.
He was a 1968 graduate of St. Paul High School in Campbellton, Florida. Upon graduation, he enlisted to serve his country, Sherman enlisted into the United States Army completing one tour in Vietnam. During his military career, he earned several high honors which included the rank of E-5 and received several citations for his service, as a Still Photographer Specialist.
One of his favorite things he loved and enjoyed doing was fishing. When he was nowhere to be found, just check any of the local fish creeks. Although he enjoyed fishing, most valuable thing he truly loved and cared for, was spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by Mrs. Mary Emma Redmond, whom she raised as a son. Also preceded him in death were his step mother, Jessie Mae Curry; one son, Johnathan Mizell; one daughter, Kese’ Walker; ten siblings: Inez Ramsey, Mary Peterson, Minnie Sheffield, Johnnie Mae Curry, Frank Curry, Carlton Ray Curry, Jimmy Curry, Clifford Curry, Betty Jean Curry and James Curry.
Survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Veryl Vann Curry of Chipley, Florida; nine sons: Sherman Curry III (Gloria) of Detroit, Michigan, Bryan Bernard Curry of Pensacola, Florida, Samuel Mathews, Davanee Walker, Alvin Walker, and John Walker all of Graceville, Florida, Jeffrey Curry, Danny Curry, and Neatron Curry all of Chipley, Florida; daughters: Taishia Walker (Jeffrey), Shera Diaz-Cruz (Daniel) both of Graceville, Florida, Sherrica Watford (Demetris) of Campbellton, Florida, Shermara Curry (Courtney) and Alexis Curry both of Chipley, Florida; two brothers-in-law: David Vann (Mae) and Billy Vann(Christine), two sisters-in-law: Pamela Edwards (Hazel) and Bridgette Vann; 45 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; special friend and fishing buddy: Bruce Peterson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
