Mr. Odell Lane, Sr., was born February 3, 1954 in Campbellton, Florida to Leroy Lang and Reland Nix.
He finished school through the Job Corps and had a love for body work on vehicles, although he never pursued a career in it.
He started working at Rex Lumber Company, then Hamm Milling Company and most he recently retired from working for Wallace Malone in Campbellton, Florida.
He gave his life to the Lord at a young age. He always looked for a reason to say “let me tell you one thing, I know the Lord and I believe he’s going to take care of all of it.” Until his health declined he attended Friendship Christian Methodist Episcopal in Campbellton, Florida.
He loved his family and always made sure his sons and granddaughter had everything they needed. Especially his granddaughter, “she had him wrapped around her finger from day one”.
Odell never met a stranger and would spend hours talking to his friends in town, if he wasn’t there then he was watching westerns.
Mr. Odell Lane, Sr., made his transition from labor to reward on Friday, September 17, 2021.
Mr. Lane is survived by two sons: Odell Jr., and wife Tabatha Lane of Campbellton, Florida and Demetrice Lane of Tampa, Florida; the love of his life, his granddaughter, Kaylin Lane; siblings: Johnny and wife Debra Lane of Campbellton, Florida, Frankie Nix of Alabama, David Lang of Marianna, Florida, Joann and husband Eddie Davis of Campbellton, Florida, Rita Davis, Tangila Nix both of Campbellton, Florida, Ruth Snow of Marianna, Florida, Patricia Heatrice of Marianna, Florida and Sara Lang of Palm Coast, Florida; stepdaughters: Stephanie Smith and Livyar Keys; special friend, Edna Flowers; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
