Brother Walter Lee Campbell, Sr., was born October 17, 1922 to Cam Campbell and Willie C. Campbell in Walton County, Florida.
He was united in marriage to Hattie Lee Barron in 1952. To this union three children were born. Walter Lee Campbell, Jr., Rozzie Mae Campbell and Clarence Edwin Campbell.
He owned and operated a television repair shop, worked at the shipyard and retired from the International Paper Company in Panama City, October 31, 1987 after 43 years of service.
He joined Second Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in 1952 and became an active member serving as a Sunday School teacher, a financial secretary and a member of the Board of Trustees.
He was a member of the Pride of Panama Masonic Lodge #81 and held many offices including serving as Grand Master of the State of Florida in 1970 and 1978.
Mr. Campbell was recognized by the Bay County Democratic Executive Committee and the Florida Sheriff’s Association for Outstanding Service.
He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Venear Palmer of Lutz, Florida; three children: Dr. Walter Lee Campbell, Jr., and his wife Brenda of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Rozzie M. Johnson of Panama City, Florida and Clarence E. Campbell and his wife Monique of Bonita Springs, Florida; six grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, along with a host of dear friends and relatives.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
