Mr. Louis McCarter, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Louis McCarter, Jr., was born on December 28, 1957 in Donalsonville, Georgia to the late Louis McCarter, Sr., and the late Herma Lee Myrick McCarter.

From a toddler to adulthood, he was reared by his paternal grandmother, the late Annie Pearl Bennett.

He attended public schools—Union Grove and Malone High. Afterwards he enlisted in the United States Army. After fulfilling his obligation of service, he returned home and gained employment with several companies. Ultimately he retired from Waynes Farm after a tragic automobile accident.

He eventually relocated to Tampa, Florida. Several years later, James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital became his home for over 10 years. There, he made countless friends and love ones who cared for him dearly.

Louis never allowed his condition to keep him down. He was very positive, cheerful and full of life. He shared his time to inspire those we need encouragement and always kept everyone laughing.

On June 6, 2024 at 11:15 am EST, he left us behind to continue his sweet, peaceful journey with the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, seven uncles, two aunts and other cousins.

Precious memories will forever remain with his loving family: brother-Nathaniel Black of West Palm Beach, Florida; two sisters– Cozey (Pastor Bernard) Davis of Marianna, Florida and Gloria Mills of Jacksonville, Florida; uncle—Mervin Gibson of Malone, Florida; aunt—Sallie Gibson of Malone, Florida; cousin—Gloria Dickens of Malone, Florida; special friend/brother—Donald (Betty) Snelling of Tampa, Florida; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, James A.
