Mother Annie Walker was born on February 7, 1942 in Enterprise, Alabama to Barney and Idella Jenkins Hayes.
She accepted Christ at an early age was began her walk with her Lord and Savior at Refuge of Church of Christ in Bridgeton, New Jersey under the leadership of Elder Shakespeare.
For over fifty-seven years, Mother Walker was joined in Holy Matrimony to her soul mate, Mr. John D. Walker.
Mother Walker was employed with the Cumberland County Medical Center in Bridgeton, New Jersey in Environmental Services for over twenty-five years.
Later after moving to Florida, Mother Walker was united with the congregation at United Pentecostal of Deliverance under the pastorage of Bishop Earnest Freemen. She was faithful and dedicated servant.
To know her was to love her. She never met a stranger. She would always greet one with her beautiful and contagious smile. She had the gift of lighting up a room upon entering and leaving. Sister Walker first and foremost loved serving the Lord; singing, cooking, and studying her Bible, which she lived by daily.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Barney and Idella Jenkins Hayes and her husband, John D. Walker.
She is survived by her children: Sandra Walker of Graceville, Florida, David O. Walker (Diane) of Powder Springs, Georgia, Michael A. Walker of Noma, Florida, Connie Richardson of Marianna, Florida, Janice Mack of Noma, Florida and Christina Gram of Arlington, Georgia; sister: Mary Brooks of Elmira, New York; brother and sisters-in-law: Larry Austin of Quincy, Florida, Dorothy Faison of Tampa, Florida and Gloria Saunders of Tampa, Florida; god daughter: Alesha Olds of Campbellton, Florida; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
At 8:46 in the evening on Thursday, September 9, 2021, MotherWalker left this world, but left her family and friends with the message, “If you miss me singing down here, Oh, come on up to bright glory, You’ll find me singing up there. “
