On November 14, 2024, at the age of 69, Jeanette passed away peacefully in Panama City, Florida, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family.
Jeanette's life was rooted in the values of faith, family, and service. From a young age, she was an active member of the Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church in Chipley, where she cultivated her spiritual foundation and commitment to helping others. Her work as a Certified Nurses Assistant was not just a profession but a calling. Jeanette's hands were those of a healer, her words a comfort, and her presence a sanctuary for those in her care.
Throughout her life, Jeanette's vivacious personality was a source of endless entertainment and inspiration. She had an infectious love for playing games, dancing, and engaging in playful banter, often referred to as "talking junk," which brought smiles and laughter to any gathering. Her spirit was a reminder that joy can be found in the simplest of moments, and that life is to be celebrated with every step we take.
Jeanette's legacy is carried on by her loving family, who stood by her side through every challenge and triumph. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt Washington and Annie Lee Wright Munson. Her memory will be cherished by her children: James Staten Sr. (Stephanie) of Tampa, Florida, Teresa Staten of Brunswick, Georgia, Felicia Staten of Chipley, and Derrick Hogan of Chipley. Her siblings, Charles Wright (Velma) of Graceville, Florida, Paul Wright of Chipley, Florida, Veronica Wright (Hawthorne) of Saint Petersburg, Florida and Darrell Monson of Chipley, Florida, will hold her close in their hearts, as will her thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
During her time of illness, Jeanette was blessed with the unwavering support of her family. Her children were a constant presence, providing love and care when she needed it most. In particular, her granddaughter Jameila became her “SPECIAL NURSE”, a testament to the loving bonds Jeanette had nurtured within her family.
Jeanette was the epitome of what it means to be loving, funny, and passionate. She approached life with a heart full of love, a sense of humor that could light up a room, and a passion that fueled her desire to make a difference. Her ability to connect with people, to offer a kind word or a helping hand, was her superpower. She taught us that to love deeply, to laugh often, and to serve passionately is to live a life that truly matters.
