Gloria Jean Armstrong Snell was born on June 29, 1951 to Dudley and Hattie Armstrong.
Gloria confessed Christ at an early age and joined Saint Michael Missionary Baptist Church, where she dutifully served until her death.
Gloria attended Saint Paul School in Campbellton, Florida, while attending Saint Paul, Gloria was an honor student and ran track until graduating in 1969.
In 1971, she wed Willie Snell and together they reared a lovely family before divorcing in 1993.
Gloria was employed as a seafood cook for 35 years before retiring in 1998. She enjoyed many hobbies including fishing and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Dudley Armstrong, Jr.; a grandson, Zacharius Brooks; a great-granddaughter, Jakiyah Patterson; and a brother, William Eady.
She leaves to cherish her memory sons: LaTrell Snell and Marcus Snell both of Lakeland and Keon Snell (Anita) of Jacob City; daughters: Lynetta Jones (Keith) of Lakeland, Ashley Garrett (Sam “Jock”) of Two Egg, Regina Brooks of Campbellton, Florida and Shavetta Snell (George) of Chipley.
She leaves to cherish her memory mother, Hattie Mullins of Jacob City; brothers: Wallace Armstrong of Jacob City; Charles McCray (Rose) of Tampa; Charlie Armstrong and Dudley Armstrong III, both of Miami; sisters: Rinie Baker and Fatina Mullins both of Lakeland; Sonjia Mullins of Jacob City; Barbara Armstrong and Twana Armstrong both of Miami.
Grandchildren: Ronderick (Bianca), Devonte, Tasheuna, Jamecia, DyKieria (Ashton), Martrell, Belah, TyKendra, Rashara, Kaylee, Trevell, James, LaTeria, Shalon, Shamari, JacQuez, Courtavious, Zavier, Majiyah, Jocarian -"ThugBug", Aaron, Keniyah, Brayden and Karter.
Great grandchildren: Amiyah, Sarai, Elyse, Rondedrick, Reniyah, Ryliegh, Roderick, Kyler, Kaide, Preston, Lola and DJ.
Special friends whom she loved as sisters: Doris "Dorisy" Laster and Dora Newton. Very special friends: Pastor Emma Watford, Zane Gilbert, Vivian Webb and Brenda Baldwin.
She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
