Evelyn Danette Dixon, age 59, of Daleville, Alabama and formerly of Noma, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.
Evelyn was born on March 1, 1963 in Dothan, Alabama and raised in Noma, Florida.
At an early age, she joined St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church in Noma, Florida. Evelyn was a 1983 graduate of Poplar Springs High School in Graceville, Florida. She then later relocated to Daleville, Alabama.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest and Flora Dixon; her maternal grandmother, Evelyn “Muh” Woods; her sister, the Reverend Reba Sorey.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving son, Christopher (Miya) Dixon, Hartford, Alabama; a daughter, Shicala Dixon, Bonifay, Florida; four sisters: Deborah Woods, Dothan, Alabama, Donna Dixon, Noma, Florida, Wanda Dixon, Tallahassee, Florida and Lisa (James) Dixon, North Carolina; two brothers: Joseph (Lillian) Dixon, Noma, Florida; Ernest Dixon, Jr. Campbellton, Florida; one aunt, Viola Coleman, Birmingham, Alabama; one brother-in-law, Johnny Sorey, Noma, Florida; five grandchildren, Ebony, Bryceson, Erik, Lena, and a baby boy to arrive in September; one great granddaughter, Ryleigh; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
