Eva Mae Walker

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”  Revelation 21:4

Eva Mae Walker, affectionately known as "Granny" and "Momo" to those whose lives she touched, was a beacon of love and faith that shone brightly throughout her 92 years on this earth. Born on July 13, 1933, in New Brockton, Alabama, Eva was a spirited soul who carried the warmth of her upbringing with her as she journeyed through life. On December 1, 2025, Eva was called home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion in Chipley, Florida.

Eva's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of Graceville, Florida, where she and her family laid down roots. It was there, within the embrace of the Jackson County school system, that Eva's love for learning took flight, culminating in her graduation and setting the stage for a life filled with purpose and service. Eva's steadfast commitment to her faith was evident in her long-standing membership at New Easter Missionary Baptist Church in Graceville, where she served with grace and fervor. As Chairman of the Pastor Aid Club and a member of the Usher Board, Eva's presence was a constant source of strength and encouragement to her church family.

Eva's love for the Lord was matched only by her love for her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Annie Lee Blair Walker and Lonnie Walker, Sr.; her brothers, James and Lonnie Walker, Jr.; and her cherished son-in-law, Thomas Lombard.

Her memory is lovingly cherished by her children: Willie Ruth Lombard; Franklin Graham (Marvetta) all of Graceville, Florida, Jimmy Graham (Annie Ruth), Port Charlotte, Florida  and David Graham, South Florida; her grandchildren: Letitia Lombard-Myrick; Pamela Lawrence-Kennedy, both of Graceville, Florida,  Salito Lombard (Meka), University Place, Washington, Nicole Graham-Landerman (Richard), Ozark, Alabama, Jimmy Graham, Jr. , Tampa,  Florida, Jalen Graham, Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Cravius Lawrence (Michelle), Sebastian, Florida, Marco Graham, and Stephan Graham, both of South Florida; her great grandchildren: Tara Myrick-Gaddy and Aeneas Myrick both of Graceville, Florida,  Eddie Myrick, Jr. (Ambrielle), Tyre Myrick (LaDeisha), Demica Myrick all from Pensacola, Florida,  Katsumi Lombard, University Place, Washington, Neporia Kennedy, North Dakota; Trey Kennedy, Florida, and Jaleese Dudley, Marianna, Florida; great-great grandchildren: Ahmad; Tashyla, Mia, SaLaiya, Sayvion, Qu’tavia, Za’Neyssia, Mekhi, Kaylin, Iyandia, Dazarion, Jaxson, and Teigen; several adoptive: children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends; special friends: Mattie Watford-Griggs, Mamie Walker, Lillie Lawrence, Katherine Johnson, Mamie Wilson-Gainer, Metterean Robinson, Annual Franklin and the wonderful staff at Washington Health and Rehabilitation, Chipley, FL. All who will forever hold in their hearts the lessons of kindness and resilience that Eva instilled in them.

Eva's home was a sanctuary of hospitality and care, where she embraced the role of homemaker with zeal and dedication. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own kin, touching the lives of countless adoptive children, grandchildren, and friends. Eva's generosity knew no bounds, and her ability to create a family from those around her was a testament to her loving heart.

In her twilight years, Eva found joy in the fellowship of New Beginnings Worship Center in Dothan, Alabama, where her passion for "Praising the Lord" was infectious. Her voice, raised in song and praise, will echo in the halls of her beloved churches for eternity.

Eva's life was a testament to the power of faith, the beauty of a loving spirit, and the strength of a faith-filled heart. Her legacy is one of unwavering love, boundless energy, and a deep-seated belief in the goodness of the Lord. As we celebrate Eva's journey to glory, we are reminded of the impact one life, lived in service and devotion, can have on the world. Her memory will continue to inspire us, her spirit will guide us, and her love will envelop us until we meet her again in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
