Earl Clay Obituary

Earl Sheldon Clay went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2025, in Marianna, Florida from natural causes. He was born on July 30, 1942, to Maribeau Lamar and Eliza Wynn Clay.

Earl was a member of Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church of Marianna. Mr. Clay served his country in the United States Army and discharged with honors. He was a graduate of Howard University and Bethune-Cookman University and retired from the Office of Personnel Management in Washington, DC.

As an outstanding citizen in the community, Earl helped out wherever need. Earl enjoyed watching the New York Yankees playing baseball, doing crossword puzzles, and socializing with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Earl is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Clay; his lovely daughter Kimberly Clay and his wonderful grandson, Dajai Earl John; his brother Roger (Chalullah) Clay; his sister, Carolyn Coleman; a sister-in-law: Leontyne (Sabrina, Andre); his nieces: Mia Coleman, Cherrice Clay (Anthony) Austin; nephews: Kenneth (Angela) Clay, Maurice (Catherine Clay); best friends, Donnie Rouhlac and Keith Denslow; family friend, Shaun Saffold; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Earl Clay is also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Reginald Clay and Bernard Clay.
