Carrie Trazetta Myrick, a beacon of love, courage, and gentleness, embarked on her eternal journey on January 13, 2020, in her beloved hometown of Graceville, Florida. Born on February 21, 1974, in the same town, her life was a testament to the transformative power of love, courage, and resilience.
Carrie was preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia Myrick, grandfather, Andrew Myrick and uncle, Donnell Myrick. They were the foundational pillars of her life, and their influence and enduring love shaped her into the remarkable woman she grew to be. Their legacy lives on in her, and now, she joins them in eternal peace.
Carrie is survived by her father, O’neal Myrick Sr. (Willie Mae Ward), and her grandmother, Bonnie Myrick, whose love and support were her guiding lights. She was a loving mother to Craig Myrick (Michaela), Deante “J” Swain, and Leanndra “Lele” Swain. Her grandchildren, London, Lathon, Harmonee, Jalayah, and Tiashon “Bubba”, were the joys of her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.
Carrie's siblings, Tina, Stacey (Emanuel) Watford, Neikeshia (Timmy) Granger, Danielle Ward, O’neal Jr., and Oda Lee Myrick, along with her numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, godchildren, and her lifetime partner Leroy Swain, formed the intricate tapestry of her family life. She considered her special friends, Stacey Davis and the Davis Sisters, Shantay Pinkard, Joe and the Hwy 77 Bingo Crew, Holly Peacock, Margie Gillette and Jason Daniels as her extended family, and they were integral threads in the fabric of her life.
Carrie's life was a masterclass in living courageously. She was gentle yet sturdy, like a tree that stands strong against the wind but bends to provide shade to those who seek comfort. She lived her life with an open heart, welcoming everyone into her world with a radiant smile and loving warmth. Her life was a testament to the words of Maya Angelou, "I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it."
Carrie's life was a symphony of love. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. Her love was a nurturing force that transformed lives and created a lasting impact on everyone she met. Carrie's life was not just lived; it was a life that was loved.
In the face of adversity, Carrie stood tall, her courage unwavering. She taught us that courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it, embodying the words of Nelson Mandela, "The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."
To know Carrie was to understand the essence of gentleness. She moved through the world with a softness that was as comforting as a gentle breeze on a warm summer's day. Her gentleness was a gift to those who knew her, a reminder of the strength that lies in kindness and compassion.
Carrie Trazetta Myrick's life was a radiant light. She illuminated the lives of those around her with her love, her courage, and her gentle spirit. As we remember her, let us carry her light within us, allowing it to guide us, to inspire us, and to remind us of the power of love, courage, and gentleness. In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."
Carrie's life was a beautiful journey that will continue to inspire us. She has left us with a legacy of love, courage, and gentleness that will continue to reverberate through the generations. As we bid her farewell, let us remember her life as a testament to the transformative power of love, courage, and resilience. Carrie Trazetta Myrick, you were a beacon of light in our lives, and your light will continue to shine in our hearts forever.
