Mrs. Betty Jean Watford affectionately known as “Bet”, was born on Thursday, August 29, 1940 to Dotsie Hodges-Keepler and Allen Rucker in Midville, Georgia.
She met and married the love of her life, Mr. Walter Watford. “Bet” was the most understanding and loving person you could meet. She was always willing to help anybody at any time and did it with the most beautiful smile. She loved being a blessing.
“Bet’s” proudest accomplishment in her life was being able to be there for her family and enjoy seeing her grandchildren grow up. Her heart of gold made every critique a term of endearment.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents: Lela Mae Hodges and Bill Hodges; husband, Walter Watford and son, Davis Watford; siblings: Ivy “Cu Key” Keepler, Robert Keepler and Daisy Keepler.
She is survived her children: John McClendon (Hilda) Graceville, Florida, Wendell Watford (Dorothy) Chipley, Florida, Shirley Watford (Antonio) Chipley, Florida, Earl Watford (Samantha) Chipley, Florida, Lonnie Watford Chipley, Florida; thirty-one grandchildren; forty-one great grandchildren; siblings: Doris Jean Laster (Johnny) of Graceville; sisters and brothers-law: Lily Carter of Jacksonville, Florida, Mattie Griggs of Slocomb, Alabama, Annie Reynolds of Dothan, Alabama, Lester and husband Ben Williams of Orlando, Florida, Betty Barnes of Orlando, Florida and Emma Pittman of Dothan, Alabama, Joe (Rayvina) Watford, Sr. of Chipley, Florida and Charlie Jr. (Emma) Watford of Slocomb, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
