Roscoe Thomas Dolliver went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at his residence.
He loved the usual suspects: his wife, his children, his grandson, his dog, and needless to say, he also loved life in general. He was an avid hunter, golfer and bad-joke teller. No one who met him was left untouched by his special brand of humor.
A resident of Graceville for 34 years, Roscoe was well-known throughout the Jackson County community. He worked for 20 years at Campbellton-Graceville Hospital and then at Jackson Hospital for the past 13 years.
He was of the Episcopal faith and was very involved in his church community as well. He served as Layreader for over 30 years at St. Luke Episcopal Church. He was also a faithful member of the Express Lane Coffee Club. He will be sorely missed by all those fortunate enough to know him.
Precious memories of Roscoe will forever be with: his wife, Lynda Dolliver of Graceville; a son, Matthew Thomas Dolliver of Tampa; a daughter, Stephany Schlenker and her husband, Patrick of Milton; a grandson, Connor Schlenker of Milton; and two sisters, Louise Smith of Middletown, R.I. and Agnes Carr and her husband, Sam of Ellsworth, Maine.
Visitation will be today at Christian Memorial Chapel in Graceville from 6 until 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Marianna with the Rev. Diana B. Freeman officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in thanksgiving for his life to St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Marianna.
