Life began for Mr. Melvin Clayden Henderson on September 11, 1959 to Mrs. Annie L. Mack Henderson and the late Reverend Samuel Jefferson Henderson, Jr.
On June 21, 2017 his journey here ended as he quietly and peacefully slipped away with family by his side.
He was of the Baptist faith. Je joined the Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church at an young age. Upon finishing high school he went on to serve his country for six years in the United States Army. He later joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Barbara E. Ramsey Henderson in Tallahassee, Florida. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs. Le’Toya Lowe; together they also shared two sons: Quentin Henderson and the late Mr. Edwin Wayne Johnson.
Melvin had many accomplishments as a United States Veteran, as he participated in many National Veterans Wheelchair Games in many states and cites. He won several gold, silver and bronze medals, as he proudly represented Jackson County.
Melvin loved people and he had an infectious smile, that brought happiness to those around him. To all that knew him have many memories to reassure of their own.
Melvin leaves to treasure his memory a loving mother, Mrs. Annie Henderson; children: Quentin V. Henderson (Andrea) and Le’Toya Lowe (Melvin) of Richland, Georgia; sisters: Eunice Henderson, Kayla Davis (Nate) all of the Jacob City, Florida, Kimberly Taylor (Sherman) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Cynthia Barbara of California; brother: Thomas Pittman of Panama City, Florida; ten grandchildren; ten nephews and nieces; eight great nieces and nephews; several uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends; special loving in-laws also cherish his memories.
