Mrs. Lynda Whittier Dolliver of 303 East 7th Avenue, Graceville, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Covenant Hospice In-Patient and Palliative Care Center in Pensacola, FL, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 63.
Lynda was born on June 17, 1946 in Freedom, Maine and lived in Graceville, Florida for several years. She was employed as a Social Worker.
A memorial service will be held Saturday October 3, 2009 at 2 in the afternoon in the Rodney D. and M. Sue Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street (located at the funeral home) in Graceville, Florida. All services has been entrusted to Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in her remembrance to Emerald Coast Hospice, Covenant Hospice or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund.
Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Dolliver; her parents, Walter and Bette Whittier all of Graceville, FL.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Stephanie Schlenker and husband Patrick of Milton, Florida and Matthew Dolliver of Columbia, South Carolina; a grandson, Connor Schlenker; one sister, Sandra Whittier of Rockland, Maine and a very special friend, Mrs. Bonnie Myrick of Graceville, Florida.
There aren't words to describe the kind of woman Lynda was. She had an amazing strength of will and spirit. Lynda touched the lives of many people through her work and she will always be remembered fondly.
