I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Mr. Henry Clay Hayes received the precious gift of life on May 18, 1936 in Greenwood, Florida. He was born to the late David Lewis Hayes and Mamie Bryant Hayes.
He was educated in the public schools of Jackson County. At an early age, he accepted Christ into his life (1953).
Mr. Hayes entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at his residence with his caring and devoted family at his side. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, George Henry Hayes.
Precious memories will forever remain with his loving wife of sixty years, Hattie Mae Hayes of Greenwood, Florida; three daughters: Toreatha Mitchell of Greenwood, Florida, Malisa Clark (Venson) of Greer, South Carolina and Deana Richardson (Paul) of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters: Mary Hall of Saint Petersburg, Florida and Nancy Johnson of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one sister-in-law: Reola Williams of Two Egg, Florida; four grandchildren: Martini Hayes of Greenwood, Florida, Daisy Hayes of Huntsville, Alabama, Rita Jones of Tallahassee, Florida and Malia Richardson of Jacksonville, Florida; five great grandchildren: Xaiden Hayes, Xander Hayes, Xakyai Hayes all of Huntsville, Alabama, Morgan Jones and Kerwin Jones, Jr., both of Tallahassee, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews other sorrowing cousin, relatives and friends.
Farewell, Henry, you were tired and needed your rest. You were called forth by God, and your soul was truly blessed. We will not weep and mourn because we don't see you on this side anymore. We know that you'll be waiting to meet us on the other shore.
