Dollie Mae (Smith) Douglas

November 2, 1916 ~ March 12, 2019 (age 102)

Time for me to go now, I won’t say goodbye;

Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.

In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,

Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.

Time for me to leave you, I won’t say goodbye;

Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.

In the evening sunset, when all the world is through,

Just look for me and love me, and I’ll be close to you.

It won’t be forever, the day will come and then

My loving arms will hold you, when we meet again.

Time for us to part now, we won’t say goodbye;

Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.

Every waking moment, and all your whole life through

Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.

Just wish me to be near you,

And I’ll be there with you.

In humble submission to the will of God, Christian Memorial Chapel, LLC sadly announces the passing of Mrs. Dollie Mae Douglas, age 102,  of Panama City, Florida. Mrs. Douglas transitioned into eternal rest and peace Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

She was a native of Slocomb, Alabama and the daughter of the late Charlie Sr. and Arleana Smith. She was a member of Saint John Missionary Baptist Church of Panama City, Florida.

Mrs. Dollie was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Strauss Douglas and she was the mother of the late Mattye Sue Douglas Pittman and the grandmother of the late Rodney D. Pittman of Graceville, Florida.

She is survived by one sister, Martha Ford of Camden, New Jersey; her son-in-law: Donald J. Pittman of Graceville, Florida, several nieces, nephews, and  a great-grandson: David of Jacksonville, Florida.

Although we are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that she in a land "where she'll never grow old."

Farewell, Dollie, you were called forth by God, and your soul was truly blessed. We will not weep and mourn because we don't see you on this side anymore. We know that you'll be waiting to meet us on the other shore.

Please keep the Smith and Pittman families in prayer, as we reflect the gracious memories.
