Sherlette Delane Franklin Batey

Mrs. Sherlette D. Franklin Batey age 51, of Panama City, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Bay Medical Center in Panama City.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at the Family Of God Baptist Church on 901 East Highway 98 in Panama City.

Memorialization will be by cremation under the directions of  Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.

A well lived life came to an end for Sherlette Delaine Franklin Batey, Tuesday morning, November 24, 2015. A golden heart stopped beating when our Heavenly Father received, with open arms, our beloved, Sherlette, and called her home to rest. 

Sherlette was a free spirited, caring and giving person who lived life to the fullest. She will be dearly missed, but always in our hearts.

Sherlette was born on March 20, 1964 in Panama City, Florida to Shelton Jr. and Veronica Franklin. She attended the public schools in Cleveland, Ohio where the family resided after their military service.  Later in life, Sherlette moved back to Panama City.  She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Saints Temple Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ where she remained a faithful member until her health failed. 

On January 11, 2015, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Frank Batey whom she loved passionately. Sherlette was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Leo Long and Willie Rogers.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Frank Batey; parents: Veronica Humphries of Montgomery, Alabama and Shelton Franklin, Jr. (Karen) of Cleveland, Ohio; two sons: Keith Pannell (Laura) of Nashville, Tennessee and Dieton West (Arianna) of Panama City, Florida; six grandchildren Jayden Pannell, Iveanna West, Ashanta West, Illyana Pannell, Alyson Pannell and Madelyn Pannell; grandmothers: Jewel Rogers and Rosa Long both of Panama City, Florida; four brothers: Keith Campbell (Trish), Tyler Franklin (Roxie), Shelton Franklin III (Cheryl) all of Panama City, Florida, Antonio Johnson (Dee-Dee) of Cleveland, Ohio; one sister: Kenyatta Leverett (Morris) of Panama City, Florida; three stepsisters: Kiana Hill, Monique Bradford and Robin Perry all of Cleveland, Ohio; aunts and uncles: Shirley McLeod (Charles) of North Carolina, Jacqueline Matthews of Montgomery, Alabama, Terrie Bryant of Panama City, Florida, Betty Pinkens (Lee) of Texas, Frances Green (Eugene) of Panama City, Florida, Cynthia Grooms (Arthur) of Tennessee, Deborah Rogers, Cassandra Smith (Scott), Bonita McCray (Donnie), Iletha Brown (Wayne) all of Panama City, Florida, Lavetta Johnson (James) of Texas, Tony Bryant (Deanne) of Montgomery, Alabama, Charles Faison, Danny Scott (Christina), Willie Rogers, Jr. (Carlas) all of Texas, Darryl Rogers (Charlotte) of Indiana, Shawn Rogers (Stephanie) of Tennessee, Derrick Rogers of Panama City, Florida, Raymond Franklin of Augusta, Georgia, Tony Franklin, Santrell Franklin both of Cleveland, Ohio, five sisters-in law: Shirley Ann Smith, Barbara Langston (Fred), Mary Merriel (Robert), Frances Glover-Wymes (Lonnie) and Marilyn Patterson (Robert) all of Panama City, Florida, two brothers-in-law: Kenny Batey and Daniel McCloud both of Panama City, Florida; a special friend, Holly Frye; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who were very dear to her heart, but too numerous to name.
