Phyllis Lawrence Bullock

October 6, 1964 ~ August 4, 2015 (age 50) 50 Years Old

Phyllis Lawrence Bullock was born Tuesday, October 6, 1964 to Arthur D. Lawrence and the late Julia Mae Jones-Lawrence.

She was a native of Jackson County; retired from the Signature Health and Rehabilitation Center of North Florida in Graceville, Florida and a member of New Easter Missionary Baptist Church, Graceville.

Phyllis began working as a Nursing  Assistant, at what was then called Jackson County Convalescent Center on March 21, 1984. She continued working and supporting her family at this facility and received her Certified Nursing Assistant’s license 5 years later.

Because her desire was to care for others, as a Nurse, Phyllis continued her education by taking night classes at the Washington-Holmes Technical School, and stated that her graduating with her License for Practical Nursing was a proud accomplishment in 1999, when she was 35 years old.

When asked of her greatest and most proud accomplishments, she would quickly name her two children, Matrin and Macindra.

However, above all, Phyllis had a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She found Him to be more than faithful and it was her desire to continue in faithfulness to Him. For 30 years Phyllis dedicated her time to the residents of Signature Healthcare as a Treatment and Floor Nurse.

Phyllis was known to be a loyal, hard working and took pride in all that she did. She trained many nurses and many more looked up to her as their mentor. Family members of the residents of Signature Healthcare often referred to her as their family as well because of her compassion and sincerity. She was a friend to all who was trustworthy, honest and compassionate.

Phyllis leaves to cherish her memories: her children: Macindra Bullock of Graceville, Florida and Matrin Brown of Deerfield Beach, Florida; her father, Arthur D. Lawrence of Dothan, Alabama; four sisters: Vickie Russ of Graceville, Florida, Gwen Tucker (Benjamin) of Sewell, New Jersey, Pamela Stringer (Terry) of Graceville, Florida and Patricia Simms of Miami, Florida; four brothers: Calvin Lawrence of Campbellton, Florida, Keeble Lawrence (Faye) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Timothy Russ (Danyale) of Tampa, Florida and Ferdinand Russ (Nesha) of Cottondale, Florida; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and her Signature Healthcare family.

Phyllis’s motto for life was simple and will serve as a example for others. She simply desired to be loved and to love others.

Phyllis departed her earthly home on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at her residence with her family at her bedside, to continue on the journey with her Lord and Savior.
