Elder Hosea D. Mincy, Jr. age 87, of Lynn Haven, Florida entered into his eternal life peacefully Wednesday morning, October 19, 2016 at Emerald Shores Nursing Facility in Panama City, Florida.
Elder Mincy the son of the late Hosea and Carrie Mincy was born January 25, 1929 in Youngstown FL.
Hosea accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1975 under the leadership of Apostle Joe L. Payge of Edison, GA.
He was the Pastor of Miracle Deliverance Holiness Church of Panama City, Florida for twenty years.
He was a quiet spirited man, a pillar of strength. He always glorified God; he was not a shame of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A man filled with the Holy Ghost and his main concern was about winning souls for the Kingdom of God. Elder Mincy left a legacy that all who knew him would never forget. He was a great family man that loved his family.
He was employed with Tommy Thomas Chevrolet Company for over twenty-five years and with Gulf Coast State College for eleven years under the direction of Bishop A.E. Cutler, Sr.; they had great respect for each other.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seventeen sisters and brothers; two children: Ella Duncan and Brian Harrison; two grandsons: LaDon Harrison and Steven Nelson.
Elder Mincy is survived by his children: Pastor Shirley (Paul) Caldwell, Doris (Ike) Mincy, Manford Oney, Robert (Annette) Oney, William (Net) Oney, James (Ruby) Oney, Dr. Julia (Dr. John) Haley and Annie Ming; twenty-nine grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; siblings: Maxine McCall, David (Clara) Mincy, Ike (Doris) Mincy and Truman Mincy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
