Welcome to the memorial page for

Barbara Lynn Hughes

February 4, 1966 ~ October 27, 2016 (age 50) 50 Years Old

On February 4, 1966, Annie Lee and the late Roy Lee Hughes, Sr., were blessed with their second precious baby girl, Barbara Lynn Hughes.

She had a great love for God and established her relationship with Christ at a very innocent age; at this point she became a longtime member of Saint John AME. While being a faithful servant in her church, Lynn was an active part of the Ladies Aid Society, Adult Choir, and she was a diligent Sunday School Teacher.

She was extremely competitive. Lynn played for the Graceville High School Softball team, as well as the Stateline Tigerettes. “Baby Lynn”, as she was affectionately called, was an incredible cook, friend, babysitter, life of any party, and always very outspoken. With her being independent and unconventional, when everyone else chose the college path, she chose to attend the school of life.

Barbara relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida, where she met her first love, Rickie Eugene Morrow, and they had a beautiful baby girl, Bacarrdii Rickia Morrow. She made great use of the half a century given to her on earth.

Barbara leaves behind, to carry on her legacy a loving family; her daughter, Bacarrdii; her mother, Annie Hughes; siblings: Brenda L. Hughes, Roy L. Hughes, Jr., Sandra Hall (Ernest) of Jacob City, Florida and Sylvia Dozier; nieces and nephews: Parisia McCray (Jake) of Dothan, Alabama, Zhakerra-Vannece Hughes of Birmingham, Alabama, Kalynn Hughes of Blountstown, Florida, Roy L. Hughes III and Amarius Patterson Robbins of Marianna, Florida, Chantel Sammons (Scott) and Reginald Dozier; great nieces and nephews: Emory Aemil McCray, Elan Charles McCray, Na’Riah Dozier and Yuri Cheyenne Sammons; a special friend, Christopher L. Robinson; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and relatives.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 5, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Saint John A. M. E. Church in Campbellton, Florida with Rev. Ann Riley officiating, interment will follow in the Church Cemetery under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
