Brother  Alfonso White (affectionately known as “Uncle Buddy”)  was born on December 25, 1917 to the late Rebecca Jackson White and Lonnie White.

He was converted at an early age and joined Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Jacob City, Florida.

He was active with the church. He was the Sunday School Superintendent for approximately twenty years. He also served as the Church Clerk for about the same period of time. He stated that these positions would be better served by a younger man.

He made a living as a farmer. After retiring began to work with the City of Jacob and worked there for many years until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Pittman White; three children: Betty Clemmons, Alene White and Charles White. Also preceding him in death are four grandchildren.

On Friday, August 18, 2017 at 8:15 AM, he transitioned peacefully to eternal rest with his daughter by his side.

Brother Alfonso White leaves to cherish his memories three daughters: Corine Jones (Arthur Jr.) of Panama City, Florida, Lossie White of Orlando, Florida, Terry White (the Reverend Obadiah White) of Chipley, Florida; two sons: Johnny White (Bernice) of Miami, Florida and Frank White (Wilma) of Houston, Texas; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

...I have fought a good fight.  I have kept the faith…
